TOM  OF  FINLAND  FOUNDATION

Tip's of the Hat and Odds & Ends:

6th Annual LiquiDREAMS Labor Day Pool Party was a resounding success! Thanks to AC Presents, Anthony Cortez, Miguel Reyes and all the Hosts and Volunteers who put this event together and generously donated to Tom of Finland Foundation.

Everybody had a blast. See more here.

We found TOM's family summer house in Finland.

It is on a large island with a large lake (Myllykylä), not far from his home in Kaarina. Compare the differences between the 1930s and 2011 photos here.

The Art of Etienne
ADD AN ORIGINAL TO YOUR COLLECTION

Durk Dehner (L) and Etienne (R)

Etienne's work does not come on the market often, so these four drawings are rather rare finds. Those of you who are building out your collections to include examples of the iconic artists of the last century, then here are some great offerings to consider.

Two collectors have contacted me desiring to find new owners and caretakers for these works. The pricing of each work is in the US $3,000 – $3,500 range. The sellers are motivated, so you are invited to make offers (discounts are available for multiple purchases).

View these works, learn more about Etienne, and consider a purchase.

Artist in Print
REX

The artist REX is appearing in issue #22 of Instigator Magazine. Here's what AXEL, Instigator's award winning illustrator has to say about REX:

"Without question, REX is my biggest inspiration. Not only is his work - by far - the hardest to duplicate, but NO artist has ever done hypermasculine fetish quite like REX.

"He is in a class by humself. Period."

Homogenda 2012

"Homogenda 2012" is a calendar book donated to ToFF Library containing over 90 pages filled with the work of 24 Gay artists from around the world. The first copy was received by the Mayor of Groningen, Netherlands for the University Library of Groningen and he gifted copies to 150 of his dinner guests.

Tom of Finland Foundation is very pleased to have TOM included in the book and it is a wonderful addition to our library.

"In this anniversary 2012 edition we pay special attention to the work of Tom of Finland. His driving force was to portray a positive image of the Gay man, who would be proud of himself. His work made a great contribution to Gay emancipation".
