GIVING
FREE RIDES TO TOMsBar2016 from Uber
Like people across the world, we were deeply shocked and saddened by the recent murders at a gay nightclub in Orlando. The world is a brighter and better place when we are all free to be ourselves. And we want to bring people together, no matter who you are or where you’re from.
To celebrate life and love in all its forms, this weekend we’ll be offering free rides to and from places that are important to the history and culture of the Los Angeles LGBT community.
Just open the Uber app, request an uberX or uberPOOL, and get picked up or dropped off at Faultline—a discount of up to $20 will be automatically applied. This offer is limited to two rides per person, up to $20 per ride.
We will be collecting funds and our TOM’s Bar raffle is dedicated to Orlando’s victims and families.
Every single dollar raised from Equality Florida’s efforts will be distributed directly to the victims’ families and survivors via the National Center for Victims of Crime’s (NCVC) Compassion Fund.
NCVC has established a process for short-term emergency disbursements through this fund, and connected victims with the funds available via state and federal resources, as well as vast in-kind networks. We are committed to raising as much as we can to ensure short and long-term support for the victims’ families and survivors.
Thank you, thank you, thank you
